What is Hypnosis

In easiest terms, hypnosis is a relaxation technique. The practitioners follow steps to reach a state of heightened relaxation. This is called the hypnotic state, very similar to daydreaming, or the feeling you get of losing track of time after driving and you have reached your destination only to feel as though the automobile must have been on auto pilot. This is known as “highway hypnosis.”

Under hypnosis, you are conscious and always in control, yet you are relaxed and highly focused. This allows you to tune out the busy day and other stimuli around you and reach a heightened state of awareness.

Hypnosis can be viewed as meditation with a set goal. Hypnosis and meditation are similar in the sense that you will be seeking to reach a state of relaxation and focused concentration.

In such a state of heightened awareness, you begin to examine your subconscious mind and you are provided with suggestions given by the hypnotist/hypnotherapist that can then help you view the issue differently, improving how the subconscious operates.


What is Guided Meditation?

Guided meditation is simply "meditation with the help of a guide". It’s one of the easiest ways to enter into a state of deep relaxation and inner stillness, and it’s one of the most powerful ways to eliminate stress and bring about positive personal changes.

As your guide I will ask you to sit comfortably, or you are welcome to lie down. You then listen while I lead you through a series of relaxing visualizations and breathing techniques. As you gradually relax and become more and more still, stress fades away, and your mind becomes clearer and clearer. Some benefits of Meditation include:

What Hypnosis is Not

Hypnosis is NOT a form of mind control.

You cannot be made to act against your will or your set of morals or beliefs.

You cannot get STUCK in hypnosis; all you must do is open your eyes and come back to your surroundings.

Hypnosis is not a cure. YOU must want to make a difference in your own life, and you must continue to work at it.
